Cautionary Statement

Read the labels carefully at all times. Observe any special cautions printed on the packaging of your essential oils and follow the manufacturer’s advice.

Steer clear of specific regions. Keep oils away from your eyes, nose, inner ears, broken skin, and other delicate regions.

Dilute oils for use on skin. Use a carrier oil, such as fractionated coconut oil, to dilute essential oils in order to reduce skin irritation. One drop of essential oil to five drops of carrier oil is the recommended dilution ratio. When using an oil for the first time, on delicate skin, or on youngsters, it is always advisable to dilute it. One drop of essential oil to ten drops of carrier oil is the recommended dilution ratio when working with oils that have a strong chemical composition.

Be aware of your potent oils. Before using some essential oils to your skin, they should always be diluted with fractionated coconut oil. Cassia, cinnamon bark, clove, oregano, and thyme are a few of these oils. Remember that this is not a complete list, so be sure to read labels carefully if there are any warnings regarding powerful oils.

Consider your sensitivity to the sun. Certain essential oils, especially citrus oils, may increase your risk of sun sensitivity. Bergamot, Green Mandarin, Grapefruit, Lemon, Lime, Tangerine, Wild Orange, and any essential oil blends including these oils are a few examples of these oils. Once more, this is not a comprehensive list. Look for any warnings about sun sensitivity on the label of any essential oil before using it topically. After using these oils on your skin, stay out of the sun and UV radiation for at least 12 hours (this includes tanning beds).

Use secure storing techniques. Keep essential oils out of children’s reach when storing them. This precaution will aid in avoiding unintentional consumption. Keeping your essential oils out of direct sunlight or extreme heat is also a good idea because these conditions can drastically change their chemical makeup.

Keep an eye on small youngsters. When using essential oils to your kids, always keep an eye on them. Oils should be diluted before being applied topically because children’s skin is more fragile. Prior to trying additional places, try putting the oil on a child’s feet. Use Child Resistant Caps in addition to safe storage procedures to make sure your kids don’t inadvertently swallow oils on their own.

Speak with a medical professional. Before using essential oils, speak with your doctor if you have any particular health concerns.

Prop 65

Proposition 65, officially known as the Safe Drinking Water and Toxic Enforcement Act of 1986, is a California law that requires businesses to provide warnings about significant exposures to chemicals that cause cancer, birth defects, or other reproductive harm. The law was enacted to protect California residents and the state’s drinking water sources from chemicals known to cause these health risks.

Why is this Important?

Under Prop 65, California has published a list of chemicals known to cause cancer, birth defects, or other reproductive harm. This list is updated annually and includes over 900 chemicals. Businesses are required to provide a “clear and reasonable” warning if their products contain any listed chemicals at levels that could result in significant exposure.

How Does Prop 65 Affect Our Products?

At Get Good JuJu, we prioritize the safety and quality of our products. Some of the ingredients used in essential oils and their packaging may contain trace amounts of chemicals listed under Prop 65. While these chemicals are often found in everyday items, California law requires that we provide this warning to our customers.

What Does the Prop 65 Warning Mean for You?

The presence of a Prop 65 warning does not necessarily mean that a product is unsafe. The warning is intended to help consumers make informed decisions. For our customers outside of California, you may see this warning due to the distribution of our products across various states, but it is specific to California’s regulations.

Our Commitment

We are committed to full transparency regarding our products. If you have any concerns or questions about the ingredients used in our essential oils, please don’t hesitate to contact us. Your safety and satisfaction are our top priorities.
